A group of Boston men are planning a “Straight Pride Parade” to mock identity politics and exercise their right to free speech.
The group putting on the event, Super Happy Fun America, said the parade will celebrate the “diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community!”
Mark Sahady, one of the organizers, wrote on Facebook they had to file a discrimination complaint with the city to get approved. The parade is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 31.
“If you would like to come as an individual, march as a group, or bring a float or vehicle, then get in touch. This is our chance to have a patriotic parade in Boston as we celebrate straight pride,” he said.
